- American Factfinder - Searchable database of information from the latest census. An official U.S. Census Bureau website.
- Bartleby.com Reference - Full text, searchable online editions of classic reference texts. Includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, quotations, and more.
- Encyclopedia of Chicago - The online version of the Encyclopedia of Chicago (edited by James R. Grossman, Ann Durkin Keating, Janice L. Reiff ; cartographic editor, Michael P. Conzen).
- Everyrule.com - Need a quick refresher on the rules of chess, rummy, cribbage? How about that boardgame you bought at a garage sale? Everyrule has listings and links to rules for games and sports.
- FedStats - Portal for statistical data on many topics at national, State, county, and local levels. Includes the online Statistical Abstract of the United States.
- Google Maps - Provides directions, interactive maps, and satellite/aerial imagery of the United States. Can also search by keyword such as type of business.
- How Stuff Works - Simple explanations, usually with pictures or charts, of how all sorts of machines and technologies work.
- Infoplease - This site includes contents of the Information Please Almanacs, a biography database, a dictionary, an atlas, and articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia. A great source of quick facts.
