The Youth Services Department of the Villa Park Public Library seeks a creative, hardworking, fun-loving person to work as our very first Summer Reading Intern. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either considering or planning to work with youth. You must be energetic and open to new ideas, have basic knowledge of Children's Literature, and have the ability to work well with people of all ages. You must also have keyboarding skills and be comfortable using Microsoft Office software, library online catalogs, and the Internet. You will gain experience in programming, including: planning, preparation, coordination, and execution. You will have opportunities to create book lists and displays, assist department staff with collection development responsibilities, and learn the ins and outs of public services during the library's busiest season.
